What our technical illustrators can do for you

Our experienced technical illustrators can produce graphics to established or bespoke specifications. They work closely with our technical authors to ensure that the illustrations match the text, as well as working with your designers and engineers as necessary.

Interactive hotspots

A hotspot is a clickable area created on an illustration to link, for instance, to any relevant text or image in a document. We can add hotspots to illustrations ready for import into an Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM). Hot-spotting can be applied to any technical illustration and is available for all IETM formats.

The intelligence that hotspots add, enable us to provide information within a format that is considerably more user-friendly than the traditionally printed document. Using intelligent graphics, we can create a manual that is driven from a graphical user interface, with the ability to drill-down into an illustration and identify its major assemblies and sub-assemblies, show exploded parts lists, and identify individual components. A part number and a quantity per assembly can be generated from this and subsequently ordered. This is particularly useful when combining with mobile devices for engineers that work outside of the conventional office environment.

Computer Aided Design (CAD)

Many companies have now invested heavily in the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems. We have the tools to import this CAD data, which enables our technical illustrators to use it in generating more precise illustrations, within a shorter timeframe.

Software and illustration formats

We have access to an extensive library of illustration applications, enabling us to open obsolete source files and convert them into contemporary file formats.
